Service Description
When you book this package, you save 5%! There are many uncertainties, worries, and struggles parents face when helping children cope with healthcare, illness and challenging life events. Many parents become overwhelmed and at a loss for how to support their children. This is very common, you are not alone if this matches your experience and you don't have to be alone to get through it. Our extensive training and experience provide the framework for care plans and goal setting while keeping in mind, each child and each family is unique. Our services include a variety of interventions that are therapeutic, educational, and supportive. This package includes 5 sessions (60 minutes each) and can be provided in the comfort of your home, online or at a place within the community. Due to various safety reasons, one primary care giver is required to be home (or in the close vicinity, reachable by phone) should a need arise. All new patients must fill out our Intake Assessment form and the first session booked will be with only the primary caregiver to complete the assessment, discuss scope of services, and determine plan of care. If you need immediate care, please call or text 607-437-4781. The last 10-15 minutes of every session will focus on clean up and touching base with caregivers. Keep in mind, services include additional time required for staff to coordinate plans of care, maintain records, develop resources specific to your needs and further communicate through email and text as necessary. Possible concerns you may be having: - Routine medical care / routine dental care - A series of upcoming tests / procedures / surgery / hospitalization - Chronic or life threatening illnesses (child or caregiver as the patient) - Unexpected or prepared loss of a loved one - Transitions and big changes (divorce, new move, adoption, new baby) Best used for: - Development of healthy coping skills - Creative outlets of expressions / mastery - Diagnostic teaching (helping children understand diagnosis / illness) - Preparation for procedures / surgery / visit of adult patient / dental - Post procedural / surgical coping support (ie: compliance with care) - Medical Play (increase familiarity and coping with medical environments) - Parent / Sibling Support Educating yourself, making a plan and knowing you have a skilled professional on your team can help to reduce stress and prepare you for success.
