How do we do what we do?

We play

We explore

We express

We practice

...and we grow!

We use four primary resources that can help children and those who care for them get through the toughest times.

CURIOSITY

Curiosity drives our desires to learn more about something.  This resource is key in helping children understand the environments and the people around them.  As children (and adults) express fears and anxieties about the unknown, we tap into curiosity to help fill in the gaps, uncover the unknown and instill a sense of calm.

STRENGTH

We use a strength based approach when working with children, families, and professionals.  Through identifying and encouraging strengths we can support those we work with to increase mastery and confidence.  We are driven by that shared feeling we often experience when we hear the words, "we did it!"

KNOWLEDGE

The unknown can be very scary and can lead to resistance to seek medical care, sharing false information, or a refusal to cooperate.  We use explorative activities to increase understanding, clarify misconceptions and practice ways to cope.  Breaking through the uncertainty can reduce stress, increase cooperation, and foster a more positive experience for all involved.

RELATIONSHIPS

Safety, trust and communication are three key elements for all relationships.  When these elements are broken, we work hard to rebuild and repair.  We provide children with honest information in a way they can understand.  We provide group opportunities and create connections that foster these key elements.
